We recently had the pleasure of visiting the latest creation of restaurateur Arkady Novikov. The first of its kind to open in London, we were pleasantly surprised by the slick and exclusive service and atmosphere.

Having arrived before the rest of our party, we indulged in luscious cocktails at the first bar. Our attention was instantly drawn to the metal bar top, decorated with delicate de-bossed leaf detailing. If anyone has knowledge about the design or designer of this, we invite you to open a discussion with us as we are interested in using this technique in a forthcoming residential project.

Moving into the main room, we tip our hats to the lighting designers. The space retained the ideal mix of dark spaces and soft lit dining spots that offered a perfect focus on the food. Too many restaurants get lighting wrong, sacrificing visibility for atmosphere, significantly degrading the dining experience.

The varied use of fabric sand textures for the wall covering achieved a pleasantly aesthetic effect.

We would be remiss not to mention the food, which was cooked to perfection. The black cod was a particular favourite. As usual we went crazy on the starters and didn’t leave enough room for the mains. Never mind…will have to go back soon.
